ATH is proud to have supported the Government of Western Australia on the Alkimos Desalination Project — a major infrastructure initiative strengthening Western Australia’s long-term water security.
During Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations, a 16-metre-long, 300mm bore telescopic cylinder sustained significant damage.
The scale, complexity, and precision requirements of the component meant that no facility within Western Australia was equipped to complete the necessary chroming and machining works within the required timeframe.
ATH mobilised immediately to undertake the challenge.

Scope of Works
Despite the urgency — including execution over the Christmas period — the component was fully restored and delivered within days, ensuring minimal disruption to project progress.
This project highlights ATH’s capability to manage large-scale, high-precision engineering works under demanding conditions and tight deadlines.
ATH — Engineered to perform under pressure.
